Fernandez de Oliveira leads international team to win at Arnold Palmer Cup

Geneva, Switzerland – Arkansas All-American Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira was the only Team International player to post a 4-0 record to lead his team to a 33-27 victory in the 26th Arnold Palmer Cup, played at Golf Club de Genève.

Tied 18-18 through the first three rounds, Team International won 15 of 24 matches on the final day to secure victory. Team International has now won three of the last four Arnold Palmer Cups.

Fernandez de Oliveira picked up a 4&3 win – recording seven birdies in the 15 holes played – over Baylor’s Johnny Keefer on the final day. The pair tied the first three holes (from hole 10) with pars. Fernandez de Oliveira then birdied on three of the next four holes to take a 3-Up lead. The pair each birdied on their 14th and 15th holes to help Fernandez de Oliveira hold on to their lead and secure the win.
