Anne Heche badly burned in a car accident, hospitalized: report

Anne Heche was involved in a car accident that left her severely burned in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday, August 5, TMZ reports.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirms We Weekly that the driver, whom they did not identify, was traveling eastbound on Preston Way at high speed. The vehicle left the road as it entered the intersection of Preston and Walgrove and collided with a residence on the 1700 block of Walgrove.

According to the LAPD, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and the driver was severely burned. The driver was then transported to a local hospital by LAFD paramedics. In the photos taken by TMZthe individual is wearing charred clothing as he is carried away on a stretcher and covered in a white cloth.

Moments before the engulfed crash, Heche reportedly drove into the garage of a separate apartment complex. In the images obtained by TMZresidents can be seen trying to help pull the All Rise actress out of the vehicle, but she apparently reversed her car and sped away before they could reach her.

The police have no information on whether anyone else was injured.
