Note to Book Lovers: The Transylvania Co. Library Book Sale will run until October 15

Does your library still need additions? Looking for something to do this weekend? You might be lucky!

The Friends of the Transylvanian County Library’s annual book sale now runs through October 15. The book sale takes place in the Rogow room of the library at 212, rue S. Gaston in Brevard, with over 30,000 lightly used books. for sale to raise funds for library programs.

The sale takes place every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Sunday.

Due to the pandemic that postponed the event from last year, Friends of the Library has nearly double the number of books for sale this time around.

“We will be running specials every day,” said Gerri Jergensen, the volunteer who manages book sales for Friends of the Library, in a press release. Half-price day is Thursday, October 14, and the last Friday of the sale will be a clearance sale of $ 5 per box.

A press release notes that the 2019 event generated over $ 14,000 in sales and an additional $ 2,000 in memberships and donations. All proceeds are used to fund programs and activities that the Transylvania County Library offers free for all ages, including yoga, packed lunches, the Lego club, and storytelling hours.
