The Humboldt Cribbage Club hosts a six-game tournament every Tuesday from 6:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Eureka Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road. Experienced players are welcome to come and play every week. Inexperienced gamers are welcome to come watch, learn and play games in parallel. The Friends of the Redwood Libraries will be holding their “Buck-a-Bag Book Sale” for members on Friday from 10 am to 3:30 pm in the garage of the Eureka Main Library, 1313 Third St. Fill a bag for only $ 1 . Memberships can be purchased at the door. The public is welcomed on Saturdays from 10 am to 3:30 pm Fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, CDs and DVDs will be available. A dancing parties
A ‘Diwaliwood’ dance party – presented by Veranda Social – will take place Friday evening at the Arcata Theater Lounge, 1036 G St., Arcata. It’s a night of Bollywood dancing and performances with music from New Epoch (aka Gage Seber). Indian delicacies will be provided by Chef Natalia Boyce. Everyone is encouraged to wear colorful party attire for this family event. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic options will be available for purchase at the bar. Doors open at 6:30 pm There will be live painting and dance performances at the start of the event. Appetizers, including vegetarian options, will be served around 7:30 pm A photo booth will be set up with fun props. Dance music begins around 8:45 pm Tickets are $ 35 in advance. For the second year in a row, the Rotary Club of Arcata Sunrise will offer “The Taste of Vacationing At Home”. This ‘take-home’ version of the annual event showcases local specialty food and beverage producers in convenient holiday gift wrap to take home and enjoy or give to someone special. . Gift wraps are filled with tasty treats and drinks from favorite local vendors. This year, community members are invited to give additional support to ongoing Rotary programs such as Backpack for Kids, scholarships and community garden projects.
