WhatsApp is reportedly working on allowing users to pause voice recordings while they are recording, via a future update. The alleged update will allow users to pause and resume recording their voicemail message from where they left off. Additionally, the instant messaging service is said to be working on fixing an issue with chat backups as well. A Reddit user detailed the steps needed to resolve the issue where Google Drive chat backups were stuck at 100% when restoring.

WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp features tracker, reported that users will soon be able to pause and resume recording their voicemail messages. The new feature of the Facebook-owned chat app will soon be available for beta users on Android and iOS. The website also mentioned that since this feature is still under development, it may even take a while to reach beta versions of the app.

The video above, shared by the website, shows how the feature would work once released. After recording a voicemail message, WhatsApp users will see another record button which will allow them to resume recording their voicemail message. There is no information on the start of the rollout of the feature for beta and stable versions of WhatsApp.

Additionally, a Reddit user (u / torojet) has share the process by which users can resolve the issue where their chat backup restore was stuck at 100%. This process was Point by WABetaInfo. If a user’s chat backup restore is stuck at 100%, they may not be able to back up their chats during this time, potentially losing important messages. Below are the steps that a user should take to resolve the issue.

How To Fix WhatsApp Chat Backup From Google Drive Problem

  1. Unlink the WhatsApp account from Google Drive.

  2. Rename the most recent database to mgstore.db – without changing the .crypt extension. This database can be found using a file manager.

  3. Install WhatsApp using the same mobile number.

  4. Since WhatsApp and Google Drive are not linked, the chat app will use the local database to restore chats.

  5. Once restored, users can link WhatsApp and Google Drive through the app’s backup settings.

Mildura enters seven-day lockdown

5:45 p.m.: Mildura Rural City Council will go into instant lockdown from midnight tonight.

The seven-day lockdown begins at 11:59 p.m. Friday.

Lockdown restrictions will be the same as in Metropolitan Melbourne, with the exception of the curfew.

In announcing the lockdown, the Chief Medical Officer of Health also confirmed that three more cases of COVID-19 have been found in Mildura, which will be included in Saturday’s figures. The new cases bring the LGA total to 19 cases, plus five on the river at Dareton.

As part of the lockdown, residents of Mildura can only leave their homes for limited reasons, including:

  • Obtain the necessary goods and services
  • Reasons for care or compassion (including medical care and getting a COVID-19 test)
  • Authorized work or authorized education
  • Outdoor exercise and social interaction in small groups for up to four hours per day (with one other person, or up to four more from two households if everyone present is fully immunized, plus dependents)
  • Obtain a COVID-19 vaccine locally

Residents can also visit their intimate partner or their only social bubble buddy.

Outdoor shopping, exercise and social interactions will be limited to within 15 km of the house and masks are mandatory indoors and outdoors.

Residents of the Mildura Rural Municipal Council area cannot leave the LGA except for limited reasons, including authorized work and education, compassionate care and reasons, visiting an intimate partner or needed goods or services – but only if they cannot be obtained locally.

With the increase in cases, residents of Mildura are urged to be on high alert for symptoms and get tested if there are any.

“If you are in the Mildura Rural City Council area, please follow the lockdown restrictions, get tested for symptoms and get vaccinated if you haven’t already,” the director said. of health, Brett Sutton.

“We have seen regional communities go through an epidemic so we know it can be done – it is vital that we protect the local community and the rest of the Victoria region from major epidemics. “

A rapid response test team has been deployed to provide support to the region. The tests are available on:

  • Oval airfields: 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
  • Barratt & Smith Pathology: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

In the Mildura local government area, more than 86 percent of the population received at least their first dose of vaccination and more than 51 percent had both.

For more information on the lockdown restrictions that will be in place in the Mildura local government area at 11.59pm tonight, please visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/how-we-live.

Today’s COVID wrap: the basics

On Friday, 10 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Mildura, bringing the LGA total to 19 active cases.

No exhibition site has yet been listed in the LGAs of Mildura or Wentworth.

On Friday there was a record 1,838 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths. Victoria’s press conference began at 11:50 a.m.

In Wentworth County, there are five active cases in Dareton. They are all isolated.

NSW recorded 646 new cases and 11 deaths.

You can find an up-to-date list of exhibition venues in Victoria here. A list of exhibition sites in NSW can be found here or a card is available here.

Victoria is phasing out the posting of Tier 2 exhibit sites, but Tier 1 sites will still be posted. People who have visited exhibition sites will be contacted by the Ministry of Health, so it is increasingly important to remember to log in using QR codes.

Ali Cupper closes his office due to abuse

3 p.m.: Mildura MP Ali Cupper has temporarily closed her office and picked up the phone in response to escalating abuse.

In a Facebook post on Friday afternoon, Ms Cupper said she made the decision to protect herself and her staff.

“I made the decision to turn off phones, turn off social media comments and lock the front door due to a surge in the volume and intensity of abusive phone calls and threats. physical against my desk for the past two days, “the post read.

“This is taking a heavy toll on my staff. At this point, I hope it will only be for today, but I will re-evaluate on Monday.

“We will continue to post important information on Facebook. You simply will not be able to comment on it.”

The decision to close her office comes after Ms Cupper backed the Victorian government’s vaccine mandate for essential workers earlier this week.

Her support for the vaccination requirement pitted the independent Ms Cupper against her federal counterpart, Member of Parliament Anne Webster, who petitioned against the mandate – a petition Ms Cupper called “irresponsible.”

Mask rule introduced for elementary school students

12:25: Students in grade 3 and up will now have to wear masks in class.

Masks are also recommended – but not mandatory – for children from prep to grade 2.

The rules for masks have also been relaxed for adults, with instructions now for removing masks to drink alcohol.

Mallee local government areas added to bubble

12:20: Buloke, Loddon and Yarriamback counties have been reintegrated into the Victoria-NSW border bubble, Victorian authorities said.

The Grand Bendigo and Benalla were also restored, as were Hay, Edward River, Lockhart, Murrumbidgee and Wagga Wagga in New South Wales.

Seven new cases of COVID-19 in Mildura

12:07: Seven new cases were reported in Mildura today, Chief Medical Officer Brett Sutton said.

The new cases brought the number of active cases of Mildura LGA to 16.

Victoria’s press conference is on now

11:50 a.m.: The Victorian Government press conference began at 11:50 am today.

During the press conference, authorities are expected to announce more cases of COVID-19 in Mildura.

The roster includes Treasurer Tim Pallas and Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton.

South Australia border bubble explodes 70 km away

11:50 a.m.: SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens announced that the 70 km border bubble with Victoria would be reinstated, with the exception of Portland.

COVID patient flown to Melbourne

EarlierCOVID-19 patient was airlifted from Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) in serious condition, according to MBPH Executive Director Terry Welch.

Speaking to the ABC this morning, Welch said the “very ill younger person” was airlifted to a metro hospital last night after being put on a ventilator.

One of the rooms in the hospital has been converted to accommodate patients suspected of having COVID-19.

Several staff members have returned to work after being reported as potential contacts of a COVID-19 case in hospital, but 33 others will remain in isolation for two weeks.

The hospital was bracing for an increase in the number of cases and visitors are being restricted except for limited reasons.

Five cases in Dareton

11am: The Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) this morning confirmed five cases of COVID-19 in Dareton.

Four of them were announced Thursday, but included in Friday’s numbers, and another was added overnight.

Dareton’s cases were the only ones reported in the far west of New South Wales. No new cases have been reported in Broken Hill or Wilcannia. There are 49 active cases of COVID-19 in FWLHD.

Residents of Dareton are urged to limit their travel in the community, and according to an FWLHD spokesperson, “large-scale COVID-19 testing is essential.”

Anyone with symptoms of a cold, even mild, is urged to present themselves immediately for testing.

Fragments of COVID in Swan Hill wastewater

11am: The WASTEWATER test detected fragments of COVID-19 at Swan Hill overnight, but no exposure sites were identified.

Swan Hill District Health chief executive Peter Abraham said Swan Hill District Health (SHDH) received a notification on Friday morning regarding the result of samples taken on Tuesday.

“The detection of sewage is a very strong indicator that there is currently, or has been, COVID-19 in the community,” said Mr. Abraham.

Mr Abraham said the number of Mildura cases in NSW was increasing and with the easing of border restrictions it was likely that COVID-19 could emerge in the Swan Hill area.

“If anyone is showing symptoms they should get tested,” he said

“That doesn’t mean people need to worry – only get tested if you have symptoms.

“SHDH will continue to operate the Swan Hill Driving COVID-19 Testing Clinic on McCallum Street daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but we are always ready to extend hours if necessary. “

Mr Abraham said the second thing residents can do is get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Four schools closed after community members tested positive

10:30: Three primary schools and one high school in Sunraysia are closed today after members of school communities returned positive tests for COVID-19.

Buronga Public School and Dareton Public School both announced on social media this morning that they would be closed until further notice, while Daily Sunraysia confirmed that Ranfurly Primary School had also closed due to a case of COVID-19.

It comes after Coomealla High School closed on Thursday after two students tested positive for the virus.

– Lucy Bain

Mayor of Wentworth: “Get tested”

9.45am: Wentworth Shire Mayor Susan Nichols urged residents to get tested and do their part to curb the region’s COVID situation.

“Please get tested if you are not feeling well and follow the health advice,” Cr Nichols said.

“This is very important. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this epidemic and I am sure that as a community we will be able to cope if we all do the right thing.”

There are currently five active cases in Dareton.

Researchers propose a faster method of recording data to DNA, promising in the fields of digital data storage, neural recording.

Our genetic code is millions of times more efficient at storing data than existing solutions, which are expensive and use immense amounts of energy and space. In fact, we could get rid of hard drives and store all the digital data on the planet in a few hundred pounds of DNA.

The use of DNA as a high-density data storage medium offers the potential for breakthroughs in bio-sensing and bio-recording technology and in next-generation digital storage, but researchers have been unable to overcome inefficiencies that would allow technology to evolve.

“Nature is good at copying DNA, but we really wanted to be able to write DNA from scratch.” – Keith Tyo, Associate Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering

Now, researchers from Northwestern University propose a new method of recording information in DNA that takes minutes rather than hours or days. The team used a new enzyme system to synthesize DNA that records rapidly changing environmental signals directly into DNA sequences, a method that the paper’s lead author says could change the way scientists study and record the neurons inside the brain.

The research, “Recording Time Signals with Minute Resolution Using Enzymatic DNA Synthesis,” was published on September 30, 2021 in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Lead author of the article, Keith EJ Tyo of Northwestern Engineering, said his lab wanted to take advantage of DNA’s natural capabilities to create a new data storage solution.

Lead author of the article, Northwestern Engineering Professor Keith EJ Tyo, said his lab wanted to take advantage of DNA’s natural capabilities to create a new data storage solution.

“Nature is good at copying DNA, but we really wanted to be able to write DNA from scratch,” Tyo said. “The ex vivo (outside the body) way of doing it involves slow chemical synthesis. Our method is much cheaper to write information because the enzyme that synthesizes DNA can be directly manipulated. State-of-the-art intracellular recordings are even slower because they require the mechanical steps of protein expression in response to signals, as opposed to our enzymes which are all expressed in advance and can store information continuously.

Tyo, a professor of chemical and biological engineering at the McCormick School of Engineering, is a member of the Center for Synthetic Biology and studies microbes and their mechanisms to detect and respond to environmental changes quickly.

Bypass protein expression

Existing methods for recording intracellular molecular and numerical data on DNA rely on multipart processes that add new data to existing DNA sequences. To produce an accurate recording, researchers must stimulate and suppress the expression of specific proteins, which can take more than 10 hours.

Tyo’s lab speculated that they could use a new method they called time-sensitive untimed recording using Tdt for local environmental signals, or TURTLES, to synthesize completely new DNA instead of copying one. model thereof, which allows faster and higher resolution recording.

As DNA polymerase continues to add bases, data is recorded in the genetic code on a scale of a few minutes, as changes in the environment impact the composition of the DNA that ‘she synthesizes. Environmental changes, such as changes in the concentration of metals, are recorded by the polymerase, acting like a “molecular magnetic strip” and telling scientists when an environmental change occurs. Using biosensors to record changes in DNA represents a major step in proving the viability of TURTLES for use inside cells, and could give researchers the opportunity to use recorded DNA to find out. more on how neurons communicate with each other.

“This is a really exciting proof of concept for methods that could one day allow us to study the interactions between millions of cells simultaneously,” said Namita Bhan, co-lead author and postdoctoral researcher at the Tyo lab. “I don’t think there is a previously reported direct enzyme modulation recording system.”

Brain cells in polluted water

With more potential for scalability and precision, TURTLES could provide the foundation for tools that catapult brain research. According to Alec Callisto, also co-first author and graduate student of the Tyo Lab, researchers can only study a tiny fraction of the neurons in the brain with today’s technology, and even then there are limits to that. that they know how to do. By placing recorders inside all brain cells, scientists could map responses to stimuli with single-cell resolution across many (millions) neurons.

“If you look at how current technology evolves over time, it could be decades before we can even register an entire cockroach brain simultaneously with existing technologies – not to mention the tens of billions of neurons in the human brain. “said Callisto. “So this is something that we would really like to speed up.”

Outside of the body, the TURTLES system could also be used for a variety of solutions to meet the explosive growth in data storage needs (up to 175 zettabytes by 2025).

This is especially useful for long-term archival data applications such as closed-circuit safety footage storage, which the team calls data that you “write once and never read” but which you don’t read. must have access in the event of an incident. Thanks to technology developed by engineers, hard drives and disk drives that hold years of beloved camera memories could also be replaced with pieces of DNA.

Apart from storage, the ticker tape function could be used as a biosensor to monitor environmental contaminants, such as the concentration of heavy metals in drinking water.

As the lab focuses on moving beyond proof of concept in digital and cellular recording, the team expressed hope that more engineers would be interested in the concept and could use it to record signals. important for their research.

“We are still building the genomic infrastructure and cellular techniques that we need for robust intracellular recording,” Tyo said. “This is a step on the road to reaching our long-term goal. “

Before Sithole could begin his testimony, the court first had to deal with the issue of a transcript of a conversation between police officers who were at the scene when Julies was killed. The transcript was presented in court as Exhibit H on Tuesday.

The defense team objected to the use of the recording as admissible evidence, claiming that the manner in which it was obtained violated the law regulating the interception of communications and the provision of communications information (FADN).

They suggested that there should be a trial with in a trial to determine whether the recording should be used as evidence.

Judge Ramarumo Monama rejected these objections, saying the reasons for his dismissal will be part of his judgment.

The state attorney continued to question Sithole about what happened on the day Julies died. The defense team also objected to the State Council asking Sithole if he had seen Caylene Whiteboy shoot a gun before the incident that resulted in Julies’ death.

“It is character evidence that is obtained against the accused and it is not admissible as a general principle of the law of evidence,” objected the layer of accused number one.

Other witnesses should be called to testify as the trial continues. Caylene Whiteboy, Simon Ndyalvane and Vorster Netshiongolo have all pleaded not guilty to the counts of murder, unloading a gun in public, possession of ammunition and obstruction of justice.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida – In total, three school files fell or were linked and Laura Edmonds (Buenos Aires, Argentina / Cypress Bay) got a hole-in-one on the 16e hole as the FGCU Women’s Golf Team completed a monster third round to finish fourth overall at the Jupiter Invitational hosted by the FAU at the PGA Golf Club Ryder Course on Tuesday.

Edmonds set a school record with an Under-65 group to finish second overall. His hole-in-one was the third for the Eagles since 2018. His six underperformances also tied the school record for Low Round vs. Through. She also tied for the second-best 54-hole total in program history with a score of 206 in three rounds. For the Jupiter Invitational, his score of 65 today was a new tournament record, while his hole-in-one was the first for the event.

As a team, the Eagles shot a school record of 279 on Tuesday, which was the lowest score of the day. Overall, the FGCU slashed Monday’s second round score by 16 shots to finish with a total of 54 holes of 871.

“I’m so proud of this team and how they came together today. After yesterday we knew we had to react and I couldn’t be happier,” said the head coach. Sarah trew. “This group is incredibly talented and I’m happy they were able to show it today. We had the lowest lap of the day, the second lowest round of the tournament, and Laura broke a school record. . Even though she came close to winning the overall, Laura had an amazing tournament and I’m so proud of her. She knew she needed to make some birdies and she finished with a hole of one. stroke, birdie and incredible par on 18. We look forward to the CRF in a few weeks. “

With Edmonds finishing second, Haley Yerxa (Ottawa, Ontario / Hillcrest) tied for 12e (219), followed by Anouk Casty (Basserdrof, Switzerland / Academy) and Posie farrelly (Lutz, FL / George Steinbrenner HS) who finished 23rd (223) and t-24e (224), respectively. Sophie warren (Lakewood Ranch, Florida / Seminole State College) tied for 39e (230), while Emma Grace Messenger (Montgomery, Texas / Legacy Prep Christian Academy), who played individually, finished tied for 41st (231).

Host FAU won the tournament with a three-round core of 858, while Kennesaw State was second (862). Nova Southeastern took third place with a total of 54 holes of 863.

Edmonds’ hole in one was the first since Madeline Marck-Sherk delivered one on March 31, 2019 to No.16 in the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. Madison Easterbrook posted one the year before (March 12, 2018) on issue 7 of the WKU Spring Break Shootout.
She finished the tournament with the second highest number of birdies overall (13) and her ace also served as an eagle. Today’s third round had five birdies, the eagle and a single bogey for the six cents.

Casty shot an under-70 Tuesday with four birdies in total. She opened the round with three birdies in the first six holes before finishing the first nine with two under. At the rear it had seven holes at par or better before registering bogeys on the No.17 and No.18.

Yerxa gave up a 72 on Tuesday with a pair of birdies clearing two of the three bogeys. She was even on the turn, passed No.12 and No.14, but finished strong with three consecutive pars before closing the day with a birdie on No.18.

Farrelly also finished the day with four birdies to his name. At the back of the course, she canceled two bogeys with a pair of birdies.

The Eagles will then be in action Oct. 16-18, Saturday through Monday, at the Pat Bradley Invitational hosted by the CRF in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

HAMMOND, Louisiana – After a shutout win at Nicholls and a win from behind at Louisiana Tech, Haylli’s Roe Deer and Nadine maher were named the Southland Conference player of the week for the University of Southeast Louisiana women’s soccer team, the league office said on Tuesday.

Roe, a sophomore, was Southland’s defensive player of the week, highlighted by her game-winning goal in the Lady Lions’ 2-1 victory (5-5-1, 3-2-1 Southland) over Louisiana Tech Sunday. The Humble, Texas native scored in the 60e minute across to nearly 30 meters to give SLU the lead for good.

Roe is the second SLU defenseman to receive the league’s weekly defensive honor this season with the seniors Darby Gillette (September 21).

Maher, a senior, was named conference goalie of the week after leading the Lady Lions to a shutout Friday at Nicholls, 1-0. Ireland Dublin faced 16 shots in both games against Nicholls and Tech with four saves recording their second shutout of the season. Maher, the reigning MVP of the Southland tournament, has allowed just five goals in the last seven matches.

Tuesday marks the second time Maher has won the award in his career. The Lady Lions goalkeeper also received the honor last season (March 30) with her teammate Dalton fish after SLU recorded back-to-back road shutouts to UIW and Abilene Christian.

Roe, Maher and the Lady Lions will be back in action Friday at home against McNeese (8-3-1, 5-1-0 Southland) at 7:05 pm

Santiago Gaughan / The Cougar

After returning to classes in person after the smooth opening of the University, some students do not look forward to the course registration policy.

Uh Politics For class recording, faculty have the discretion to determine whether students can record classes and people with disabilities should contact the Accessibility Center to have this privilege.

Many students are concerned that this will affect their academic performance, especially since it is possible to miss a class with the pandemic continuing.

“It’s concerning that students can go to class with COVID-19 because they don’t want to miss a class or an exam,” said Jennifer Vasquez, senior in biology.

Vasquez mentioned that not only was the risk of being exposed to her concern, but that she was also worried about her academic performance now that going back to grab something the teacher said is no longer possible.

Junior accountant Albalene Rodriquez echoed Vasquez’s concerns about her academic performance now that most of her classes are not being recorded.

“Personally, I sometimes have a hard time keeping all the information,” Rodriguez said. “Remembering everything from lectures improves my academic performance and just helps me study and try to learn concepts and at my own pace.

Rodriguez also mentioned how, especially during the pandemic, extenuating circumstances could affect a student’s ability to attend classes. The lack of registration as a safety net is not reassuring, she said.

UH, in their updated program policies, mentions that students who either have a medical illness themselves or have a sick relative can make up for work related to courses or exams that they have missed.

The University also mentions in their COVID-19 protocol for students that those with a positive test result should not return to campus, regardless of the course format, and contact instructors if symptoms affect academic performance.

Biology junior Andrea Hernandez agrees with Rodriguez’s concerns about having lectures without recordings. She said they could hamper the academic performance of those who cannot attend in person.

“I think it’s unfair for professors not to have recorded lectures,” Hernandez said. “As we are still in a pandemic, students should have access to the same content, both online and in person. “
