Bellows Falls Women’s Club meets October 12 | Community-News
BELLOWS FALLS – Members of the Bellows Falls Women’s Club will meet on Tuesday, October 12 at the United Church on School Street, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Joanne Blanchard, Executive Director of Valley Cares in Townshend, will present a program on this property’s offerings.
At the September 14 club meeting, the first in-person gathering since the pandemic began in March 2020, members welcomed General Federation of Vermont Women’s Clubs president Beverley Pallmerine. She installed the club officers and directors for 2021-2022, and spoke about her plans for the year of the state federation.
Club co-chair Judy Boynton chaired the meeting and gave detailed plans for the club’s year. These included a garage sale held at the Masonic Temple on September 25. This successful fundraiser allows the club to continue supporting numerous agencies and organizations in the surrounding communities as well as awarding a scholarship to a graduate of Bellows Falls Union High School. Club members thank everyone who supported the sale. The club will be hosting a food sale in conjunction with the annual Walpole Library Book Sale to be held at Walpole School on October 30.
The local club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, which promotes its flagship project to raise awareness and prevent domestic violence.
The GFWC-VT will hold its fall meeting in Ludlow on October 16th.
